Board Introduction - Mohammad Hossein Tavangar

Mohammad Hossein Tavangar, Dorrance Venture’s founding partner, is a seasoned financial expert and serial entrepreneur. With a rich background in the financial industry, Mohammad Hossein Tavangar has held senior positions in various organizations, including the European Commission, START Erlangen-Nürnberg e.V., Riva Growth Solution, Bozorgmehr Research Cooperative, and Iran Oil Exploration Operation Company.
As a financial advisor and independent expert at the European Commission, Mohammad Hossein Tavangar has established and evaluated proposals, records, statements, and profit plans. He has also suggested investment products based on the organization’s needs and created and implemented financial models to review deals and determine profitability. He has led and supported clients through corporate expansion, strategies, and plans development and prepared legal and financial records to complete investments and acquisitions.
At START Nuremberg, Mohammad Hossein Tavangar is the head of human resources and is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization. He has bridged management and employee relations, managed the recruitment and selection process, and assessed training needs to apply and monitor training programs. He has conducted and analyzed employee engagement surveys and developed and implemented action plans to address areas for improvement.
Mohammad Hossein Tavangar has also held senior leadership roles at Riva Growth Solution and Bozorgmehr Research Cooperative, where he has identified and evaluated potential investment opportunities, negotiated and structured investment deals, and monitored portfolio companies. He has also overseen and managed the portfolio of investments for these firms, including conducting due diligence on potential investments and monitoring the performance of existing investments. He has led finance, accounting, tax, treasury, legal, and business systems and promoted programs among relevant leaders and networks, including public, private, multilateral, and civil society.
Mohammad Hossein Tavangar holds a Master of Science in Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Shahid Beheshti University. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Finance Association, American Management Association, American Communication Association, American Society of Administrative Professionals, and Iran Management Association. He is also a volunteer member of various organizations, including the Founder Institute, Transparency International Deutschland e.V., Leaders for Climate Action, The 30 Minute – University of Planning, Futures4Europe, 2hearts, MentorMe, Epic Foundation, 350Deschutes, and TEDx Tehran.
